I am an urban ecologist and geographer drawn to the often overlooked lives of vultures and other city-dwelling birds. During my doctoral work, I studied how vultures live in urban environments - including where they live and nest, what they eat, and how they interact with humans. Today, I work in a community engagement role with the National Audubon Society. I care deeply about helping people feel connected to the environments they live and empowered to protect them. I create and support opportunities for communities to learn about, care for, and advocate for the birds that share their neighborhoods.
At the heart of my work is a simple belief - cities of all types are unique ecosystems, and conservation for the species that call them home begins with connection. When we understand the environments in which we live, we are more likely to protect them.
